Today Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush announced the Texas General Land Office (GLO) approved $2 million in Hurricane Harvey disaster recovery funds for the City of Rose Hill Acres to make street improvements.
"Hurricane Harvey devastated communities across the Texas Coast," said Commissioner Bush. "These recovery funds are critical to improving local infrastructure that will protect lives, homes and businesses from future storms. We continue to work with our partners in communities across the region to leverage these resources efficiently and effectively to benefit Texans affected by Hurricane Harvey."
With these funds, Rose Hill Acres will rehabilitate nearly 14,000 linear feet of existing road sections by reworking the existing roadway base, driveway and street turnouts, including stabilization, installation of additional compacted base and applying HMAC surfacing. Additionally, the city will regrade roadside drainage and replace driveway culvers and some culvert crossings. Construction will take place in the following locations:
- Jordan Road – 2,100 linear feet from Keith Road to Ridge Road
- Dorothy Drive – 1,000 linear feet from Lena Drive to Edna Drive
- Masterson Drive – 1,400 linear feet from Edna Drive to Hwy 96
- Edna Drive – 1,000 linear feet from Dorothy Drive
- Lena Drive – 400 linear feet from Ridge Road to Dorothy Drive
- Ridge Road – 400 linear feet from Jordan Road to Lena Drive
- Cunningham Avenue – 3,290 linear feet from Hwy 96 to Neel Avenue
- Neel Avenue – 1,450 linear feet from Morris Drive to Bayou Drive
- Bayou Drive – 1,400 linear feet from Pine Avenue to Neel Avenue
- Oakcrest Street – 759 linear feet from Pine Avenue to Bayou Drive
- Pine Avenue – 750 linear feet from Bayou Drive to Neel Avenue
