AUSTIN, Texas— Today, Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, M.D., encourages Texans to order an Adopt-A-Beach specialty license plate to benefit the Texas General Land Office's (GLO) Adopt-A-Beach program, which is an all-volunteer effort to remove trash from Texas beaches. The Adopt-A-Beach program receives $22 of every $30 spent after registration fees to purchase this specialty license plate.

"At the General Land Office, we pride ourselves on keeping our coasts clean, safe, and enjoyable for all Texans. Our spring, fall, and winter Adopt-A-Beach Cleanups are the heart of the GLO's mission to preserve the beauty of Texas beaches and educate the public about the threat of marine debris to coastal communities and wildlife," said Commissioner Buckingham. "By choosing to help support this crucial program through the Adopt-A-Beach specialty license plate, Texans can support the incredible efforts of Adopt-A-Beach volunteers and help ensure our beaches remain pristine for future generations."
