In a major win for private property rights, Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush is proud to announce a successful settlement in the lawsuit filed against the Federal Bureau of Land Management (BLM). The plaintiffs in the case include the Texas General Land Office (GLO), private property owners and county plaintiffs. The Texas General Land Office partnered with the Texas Public Policy Foundation who represented the private land owners.“For more than 180 years Texans have stood up against anyone who would attempt to infringe on our property rights,” said Commissioner Bush. U.S. Coast Guard and Texas GLO re-float large vessel damaged by Harvey

The fishing vessel "R&R" is floating once again after spending a month at the bottom of Conn Brown Harbor in Aransas Pass, Texas, after being damaged by Hurricane Harvey. The 65-foot, 94-ton shrimp boat was refloated on Oct. 6, 2017, after seven days of work overseen by the Coast Guard and the Texas General Land Office (GLO). Volunteers needed at 12 sites for Adopt-A-Beach Fall Cleanup

Update: We have just learned that Brazoria County cleanups at Surfside Beach and Quintana Beach must cancel due to large debris that has washed down the Brazos River from Hurricane Harvey. Vessel Turn-In Program to make waves in Calhoun County

AUSTIN - The Texas General Land Office (GLO) is partnering with Calhoun County officials and Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD) to offer local coastal Texans the opportunity to remove inoperable and derelict vessels through the Vessel Turn-In Program (VTIP), free of charge. Designed to provide owners with a voluntary method of disposal, interested boat owners are encouraged to participate if the vessel is less than 26 feet long, with longer boats being accepted on a case by case basis. The vessel must be delivered to the Calhoun County Recycling Center between Aug.
