Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene to Receive $3.09 Million Expansion Grant

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has awarded the Texas Veterans Land Board (VLB) a grant of $3,092,700 to expand the cemetery and make improvements to the 31-acre burial grounds. VOLUNTEERS COLLECT OVER 58,000 POUNDS OF TRASH AT ADOPT-A-BEACH COASTWIDE CLEANUP

Volunteers from all over Texas participated in the Adopt-A-Beach 2021 Coastwide Fall Cleanup that took place this past weekend on Saturday September 18. Texas General Land Office, Industry Leaders Usher in New Era of Carbon Sequestration Near Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY – The Texas General Land Office (GLO) recently awarded a first of its kind carbon sequestration project that will allow for offshore storage of carbon dioxide (CO2) in submerged lands near Jefferson County, near Port Arthur. By storing CO2, a byproduct generated from industrial activity and power generation, the GLO will help meet market-driven decarbonization goals while raising money for the Permanent School Fund. Bush announced a new agreement with the Port of Corpus Christi to develop infrastructure that captures carbon dioxide produced during oil and natural gas development. Bush announced that the Watkins-Logan State Veterans Home in Tyler has been awarded a grant totaling $1,589,503.50 through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
