Adolph Thomae Park Shoreline Protection – Phase 5

Summary

Follow-up construction phase to the previous Cycle 3-4 construction phase of the project. This final phase of the project will stabilize a final unprotected 2,940 linear feet of eroding Arroyo Colorado cut-off channel shoreline adjacent to the park by constructing a living shoreline and rip-rap breakwater designed and permitted during Ph.3 of the project. The living shoreline component will consist of a vegetated slope stabilization habitat bench to be constructed along 2,740 LF of shoreline, while the rock rip-rap breakwater structure will be constructed parallel to the shoreline in the nearshore zone along 200 LF of the cutoff channel bank.
