Advancing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle ocean observations for oil spill response and modeling

Summary

The goal of this project is to further develop unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) tools for large scale ocean current observation, to combine these tools with the latest models / advances in oil dispersion and analysis of interaction with sediments, to integrate these tools into monitoring and oil spill response, and to analyze field data on ocean currents in Galveston Bay to predict the likely behavior of different types of oil spills in the bay.
