Assessment and Data Collection to Enhance Permitting, Leasing, and Monitoring for Coastal Activities - Task 1

Summary

For Task 1, the GLO will evaluate and expand current mobile platform capabilities, existing data, and database integration to streamline and improve process efficiency, data integration, and distribution throughout GLO coastal divisions. Currently, the GLO operates some mobile platform capacity for individual agency divisions and diverse databases but the tools are not interconnected for data-sharing and file transfer from the field to the office. This task will utilize staff capacity and incorporate lessons learned from current tools, to integrate the GLO’s coastal data onto one cross-cutting and supported platform. Ultimately, information input and uploaded to the applications will be immediately accessible to agency staff for inspections, enforcement, or other decision-making.

In Year 2, the GLO will select products or platforms for acquisition based on recommendations provided by the contractor (Year 1). A coastwide pilot project will be initiated to implement the selected product or platform. During implementation, the GLO will assess the selected product or platform to determine whether additional devices/services will be purchased for faster integration. The product or platform will be evaluated for broader use of coastal management. The GLO may hire a contractor to assist with this task.
