Summary
The University of Texas at Austin, Bureau of Economic Geology will conduct a study to 1) provide a baseline from which to monitor the spread of mangroves in the Texas Coastal Bend; 2) establish methods and procedures for mangrove mapping through the automatic classification of hyperspectral imagery; and 3) expand upon previous wetland status and trends studies, funded through the Coastal Management Program, to analyze historical changes in the location and amount of mangrove in the coastal bend.Basics
