Captain Clean Crab Clean Beach Media and Education Campaign

Summary

The Captain Clean Crab project utilizes all forms of media, including paid TV, radio and newsprint ads, billboards, flyers, bumperstickers, buttons, posters and beach signs on South Padre Island and Boca Chica Beaches to educate the public that it is unhealthy and unlawful to litter our beaches. Television advertisement would be dubbed in English and Spanish and would be provided to area television stations. Valley Proud produced and distribute an anti-beach litter video featuring Captain Clean Crab and sent to the school librarian of each elementary school in the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas. Valley Proud added a Captain Clean Crab information page to its web site with a litter facts page and the Captain Clean Crab Deputy Pledge (in English and Spanish).
