Summary
This project completed the second phase of an engineering study to evaluate the feasibility of reopening a natural tidal pass at Cedar Bayou/Vinson Slough and re-establishing the historic, hydraulic connection between inland wetlands and the Gulf. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers required additional data to support a revised permit application, so the Cycle 5 phase of the project utilized CEPRA funds leveraged with Coastal Management Program (CMP) funds to undertake an environmental and biological assessment, including a revised engineering design application for a future construction phase of the project.
