Protecting North Padre Island

Summary

The Nature Conservancy (TNC) will purchase 3,680.38 acres of mature sand dunes, fresh and brackish water wetlands and marshes, and coastal grasslands on North Padre Island. TNC will hold the property until it can be transferred to the National Park Service (NPS) for incorporation into the Padre Island National Seashore (PAIS).
