Summary
The GLO Offshore Sediment Inventory Project will utilize approximately $1,000,000 in federal funds to expand data collection into portions of the Outer Continental Shelf along Texas' lower coastline. The survey is intended to inventory potential sediment resources that can be used for coastal restoration and ensuring proper planning for multi-use conflict. Approximately $1,000,000.00 n federal funds will be used to run shore-parallel lines and shore perpendicular tie lines along the North Padre Area, South Padre Area, and Port Isabel Area Protraction Areas. Data to be collected includes a full suite of high-resolution geophysical data (sub-bottom, magnetometer, bathymetry, side-scan sonar). Data will be processed and areas of interest will be processed using advanced techniques. Deliverables include a desktop study, final report, and geodatabase.Basics
