San Jacinto Battleground Seawall Replacement

Summary

The Texas Parks & Wildlife Department will replace 1600 linear feet of corroded and failing seawall sheet pilings and concrete cap along the shoreline of Buffalo Bayou (known as the Houston Ship Channel). To reinforce the Levee, it will be rebuilt with additional cross-section reinforced core materials of compacted impervious materials with new levee overtopping materials, additional breadth and height to +15' elev. above mean high tide along the channel frontage.  A 10 ft. wide all weather granite gravel walkway will be installed along the entire length of the levee to terminate at the Battleship Texas gangway entrance leading to the San Jacinto Battleground.
