Sediment Management Strategies For Accreting Gulf Beaches In Urban Areas City Of Port Aransas

Summary

This project evaluated the beach maintenance activities within the city and the potential impact of those activities on the beach and dune system.  This allowed the GLO to better guide local governments in developing best management strategies for beach maintenance activities to provide for safe public use of the beach while protecting dune habitat that in turn protect against the impacts of severe weather.
