Summary
Artist Boat will purchase 160 acres of valuable coastal barrier habitat on the west end of Galveston Island and develop a Habitat Management Plan, and a Public Access/Education Plan for the site. A Habitat Management Plan will ensure long-term maintenance and improvements of habitats and ecosystem services for the preserve site. The plan will include public access and education features, such as trails, boardwalks, viewing platforms for bird and nature watching, public access to the bay, parking, interpretive signage, and identification of a suitable site for a future environmental education center.
