Court of Claims Records
The Texas Court of Claims was an administrative body created to perform a thorough audit of certificates that had already been issued, as well as to review claims and issue original, duplicate, and unlocated balance certificates to those who provided substantial evidence. De Leon's Colony Records
De Leon's Colony was the only empresario colony in Texas that consisted mostly of Mexican families. The Colony was established in 1824 after Martín de Leon (1765-1833) petitioned the provincial deputation of Texas for permission to settle forty-one families from Tamaulipas on the lower "reaches" of the Guadalupe River.The De Leon Colony Records consist of legal documents and correspondence dated 1831-1835. Land titles in the colony and town tracts of Victoria make up the bulk of the records.

DeWitt's Colony Records
DeWitt's Colony was founded by Green DeWitt (1787-1835) as a result of his empresario contract of April 15, 1825 to settle 400 families. The colony was located south of the San Antonio Road in the area between the Lavaca River and the divide of the Guadalupe River and the San Antonio River.The records of DeWitt’s Colony consist of 3 linear feet of contract records, correspondence, land titles, appointments, and survey field notes dated 1825-1834.

Dudley H. Ward Civil War Letters
Dudley H. Ward (1845-1864) Confederate soldier and prisoner of war, was born in 1845 in Austin, Texas. The Dudley Ward Papers, 1863-1864, contains correspondence and one parole certificate documenting Ward's experience as a Confederate soldier at the Seige of Vicksburg, in camps in Mississippi and Texas, and in Galveston during the yellow fever epidemic.Categories

Duplicate Certificate Records
Duplicate Certificate Vouchers were provided to grantees and/or their heirs who may have lost their original certificate. The Records contain affidavits and other documents attesting to the loss of a land certificate and eligibility for a duplicate to be issued by the General Land Office. The Galveston Bay and Texas Land Company was formed in 1830 by combining the contracts of David Burnet (1788-1870), Lorenzo de Zavala (1789-1836), and Joseph Vehlein after the three empresarios had encountered difficulties in starting their colonies. Galveston Island Lot Records
In 1837, the western half of Galveston Island was not part of the City of Galveston. This land was surveyed and divided into lots by the Republic in an attempt to raise revenue. The lots were sold at auction through the Treasury.
