Improving Stormwater Management in Port Aransas

Summary

The City of Port Aransas (the City) will work to reduce nonpoint source pollution into local waters, reduce flooding from improper drainage and high tides, and inform their citizens of the value of their coastal resources and their role in ensuring sound management. They will accomplish this goal by: hiring a consultant to complete a data review of LIDAR data, formalize the stormwater advisory group to recruit project partners and community members, communicate data review findings to advisory group, develop Stormwater Management Plan, involve the local community and area resource managers through workshops, and create a city ordinance and outreach campaign for improved stormwater management.
