Commissioner George P. Bush reports the Veterans Land Board achieves highest loan production level in more than a decade

Texas General Land Office Commissioner and Chairman of the Texas Veterans Land Board (VLB) George P. Bush is pleased to announce that during Fiscal Year 2016 the VLB loan program achieved its highest level of production in more than a decade. Bastrop County leaders and Texas GLO cut ribbon on new communications tower

In May, Texas General Land Office (GLO) Commissioner George P. Bush announced the Community Development & Revitalization (CDR) program reallocated $200,000 from the state administration budget to be used for essential infrastructure projects and assist Bastrop County as it works to recover from the 2011 wildfires. HUD awards $45.2 million to Texas for historic 2016 flooding long-term recovery efforts

Brazos Valley Utilizes Cost Savings for Regional Communication System

Texas General Land Office Commissioner George P. Bush is pleased to announce that the Brazos Valley Council of Governments (BVCOG) has been awarded a new grant in the amount of $1,769,123. These funds were made available due to cost savings from BVCOG communities' original Community Development Block Grants for Disaster Recovery tied to the Hurricane Ike disaster. More than 8,200 volunteers pick up 172,853 lbs of trash from Texas beaches during Fall Adopt-A-Beach Cleanup

The results for Saturday’s 30th annual coast-wide Fall Adopt-A-Beach Cleanup by the Texas General Land Office are in. Despite stormy weather and red tide conditions threatening turnout, more than 9,000 volunteers showed up at 30 locations to remove 172,853 pounds of trash from 169 miles of Texas coastline!“For 30 years Adopt-A-Beach volunteers have come together along 367 miles of our Lone Star coastline to pick up trash and keep Texas clean and beautiful,” said Land Commissioner George P. Commissioner George P. Bush announces release of the GLO’s State of Texas Action Plan for disaster recovery funding

Vessel Turn-In Program to make waves in Matagorda County

The Texas General Land Office (GLO) are partnering with Matagorda County and Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD) to offer local coastal Texans the opportunity to remove inoperable and derelict vessels through the Vessel Turn-In Program (VTIP). Designed to provide owners with a voluntary method of disposal, interested boat owners are encouraged to participate if the vessel is less than 26 feet long, with longer boats being accepted on a case by case basis.
