Texas Land Commissioner and Veterans Land Board (VLB) Chairwoman Dawn Buckingham, M.D. is pleased to invite the media to attend the Women’s Veterans Day Ceremony at Richard A. Anderson Texas State Veterans Home in Houston, Texas, on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 4 p.m. This special event will be hosted by Mayor John Whitmire's Office and the Office of Veterans and Military Affairs. It will honor four Veterans residing at the Houston home and one Veteran who recently passed:
- Wanda Dilworth, U.S. Army
- Mildred Anderson, U.S. Marine Corps
- Avis Sanders, U.S. Army
- Rosemary Hunter, U.S. Army
Debbie Lacy, U.S. Air Force (honored posthumously)
