Bush announced the awarding of $35.4 million in Community Development Block Grants for Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds for Harris County to initiate a buyout program for repeatedly flooded homes in Harris County. The money is being awarded from $57.8 million in U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) CDBG-DR funds designated for previous events and held back in the case of an event in 2017. PREPS program surpasses 15,000 Texas home repairs, helping survivors return home

The program is designed to help homeowners whose home received less than $17,000 in FEMA verified loss resulting from Hurricane Harvey. GLO awards $35.8 million for long-term recovery projects from 2015 floods allocation

Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush is pleased to announce more than $35.8 million in U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant for Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds have been awarded for 38 locally identified infrastructure and housing projects in 23 communities impacted by the 2015 flooding events.
