Cmr. George P. Bush statement in response to HUD announcement regarding mitigation funds
Today, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced that it will soon publish Federal Register notices for disaster mitigation funds. The first notice will include funds for Texas, Louisiana, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, West Virginia, California, Missouri and Georgia; and the second will include funds for Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Cmr. George P. Bush announces GLO amendment reallocating $13 million to housing in Harris County
Today, Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush announced the fifth amendment to the state action plan for the 2016 flood events is posted for public comment. This amendment modifies Harris County’s method of distribution regarding the line item for the city of Houston by reallocating $13,159,931 in infrastructure funding to be used for housing. This modification makes the city of Houston’s total housing allocation $23,486,968. Read More
UNACCOMPANIED VETERAN BURIAL TO BE HELD AT THE CENTRAL TEXAS STATE VETERANS CEMETERY
Today, Texas Veterans Land Board Chairman George P. Bush announced that on Tuesday, July 30th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. SHARP, the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen will conduct an Unaccompanied Veteran burial for Mr. Melvin Harry Klingbeil. Born in January of 1937, Mr. Klingbeil served in the United States Army from January 13, 1958 to July 10, 1958. Mr. Klingbeil is not expected to have anyone attend his burial. These shorelines serve as alternatives to traditional erosion prevention landscaping along the coast.
