UNACCOMPANIED VETERAN BURIAL TO BE HELD AT CENTRAL TEXAS STATE VETERANS CEMETERY
Today, Texas Veterans Land Board Chairman George P. Bush announced that on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. SHARP, the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen will conduct an Unaccompanied Veteran burial for William Thomas Warren. Born on March 27, 1944, Mr. Warren served in the United States Army from September 4,1962 to September 3,1965 and served in the United States Coast Guard from September 13,1973 to September 12,1977.Mr. Warren is not expected to have anyone attend his burial. On Saturday, December 7, 2019 the Ussery Roan Texas State Veterans Home will host a Vietnam Veterans Commemoration Ceremony. The ceremony will feature Vietnam Veteran Wayne Porter, as the keynote speaker. As part of the ceremony, members of the Molino de Viento Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) out of Dalhart will present our Vietnam Veterans with the Vietnam Veterans Commemoration Lapel Pin. Tuesday, December 3, the Alfredo Gonzalez Texas State Veterans Home will host a 100th birthday celebration for Veterans Land Board resident, Mrs. Janice Bradley at 3:00 p.m.Born in Ozana, Texas, Janice Bradley devoted her early years to investing in our student’s education as a high school teacher. As the war broke out, Janice enlisted in the military in 1942. She was assigned to the 1040th Army Air Force Base Unit as a Medical Laboratory Technician and rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant.
