General Land Office, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Release Coastal Texas Protection and Restoration Feasibility Study Draft Integrated Feasibility Report and Environmental Impact Statement
Today the Texas General Land Office (GLO) and the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announce the release of the Coastal Texas Protection and Restoration Study Draft Integrated Feasibility Report and Environmental Impact Statement, a milestone in the effort to reduce the risk along the Texas coast from dangerous storm surges and other threats. Since 2015, GLO and USACE have worked cooperatively on a first-of-its-kind feasibility study formulating risk reduction solutions to address coastal storm risks to the vast and important Texas coastline. GLO announces approval of Regional Councils of Government Methods of Distribution for local recovery funds
Today Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush announced the Texas General Land Office (GLO) has approved all nine methods of distribution (MODs) proposed by regional Councils of Governments' (COGs) for $276 million in Hurricane Harvey recovery funds for the buyout and acquisition program and $413 million for infrastructure program for cities and counties affected by Hurricane Harvey. Today Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush announced $45,980,638 in disaster recovery funds to rehabilitate, reconstruct and construct affordable multi-family rental housing damaged by Hurricane Harvey. The money is being awarded by the Texas General Land Office (GLO) from $250 million in U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) CDBG-DR funds designated in the State Action Plan for the Multi-Family Affordable Rental Property Program.
