SAN ANTONIO - The Texas General Land Office (GLO) and the Alamo proudly announce the launch of a new interactive exhibit,  Bowie: Man - Knife - Legend. The exhibit explores the life and times of Alamo defender James Bowie, and also examines the impact that his famous knife had on Texas and the frontier. Commissioner Bush Announces 2nd Annual Save Texas History Program Fundraising Campaign

AUSTIN - Commissioner George P. Bush today announced the beginning of the 2nd annual Save Texas History program fundraising campaign to help raise awareness and funds for historic document preservation. Artwork wins Round Rock Elementary 6th grader a Caribbean cruise

AUSTIN - Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush is proud to announce the winners of the 2017 Texas General Land Office Adopt-A-Beach Treasures of the Texas Coast Children's Art Contest. The grand prize winner, selected from the 40 overall winners, was Debbie Bong, a 6th grader from Ridgeview Middle School in Round Rock. 6,700+ volunteers pick up 78+ tons of trash from 146 miles of Texas beaches

The results for Saturday's 31st annual Spring Adopt-A-Beach Cleanup by the Texas General Land Office are in. Commissioner George P. Bush and his family participated in the cleanup at Mustang Island State Park where they were joined by 200+ volunteers in picking up more than 10,000 pounds of trash along 5 miles at that site alone. Coastwide 6,772 volunteers showed up at 28 locations to remove 156,699 pounds of trash from 146 miles of Texas coastline."Many Texas industries rely on a healthy coast to thrive," said Commissioner Bush. Texas GLO and Texas Military Forces Museum collaborate on digitization of World War I maps

Today Commissioner George P. Bush announced a digitization project between the Texas General Land Office and the Texas Military Forces Museum providing digital access to several unique maps documenting the movements of the 36th Infantry Division in France during World War I. The digitized maps are now available, for the first time, on the Texas General Land Office (GLO) map database, along with more than 45,000 other maps, sketches and drawings."The Texas General Land Office has been a leading institution in digitizing archival records," said Commissioner Bush.
