The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) issued an allocation of $43,632,000 in Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funding to the State of Texas in response to the 2021 Winter Storms (DR-4586) with an incident date of February 11-21, 2021.
Background
2021 Winter Storms (DR-4586) counties designated as HUD Most Impacted and Distressed (HUD MID):
- Dallas County
- Harris County
- Tarrant County
The state action plan includes the following:
- $43.632 million allocation
- At least 80 percent of the allocation must address unmet needs in the HUD MID counties.
- At least 70 percent of CDBG-DR funds must benefit low- and moderate-income (LMI) persons.
- The total allocation must be expended in six years.
